Grossing Workflow

Start Shift: 1. Open Epic 2. Confirm context 3. Open Tracking → choose 'Bench Decontam' 4. Choose station (this is a hard stop if you're accidentally at the wrong campus (e.g. you missed step 2), and scan a bottle 5. Open Outstanding list, set to Recent 6. Open Grossing Activity and start grossing 7. Scan first bottle, scan original label or label with barcode if it doesn't have one 8. Read Case Info box to confirm patient name matches labels, MRN, specimen bottles and sites, and read Questions for Clinical History 9. Confirm Protocol on the Left and collection time 10. Use preset template or say 'New field' → 'Choose 1' or whatever template 11. If label doesn't populate, say 'read label' 12. While grossing, for the cassette key say 'in one block' to clear everything to the right of the cursor and insert the first block 13. If grossing biopsies, say 'one in toto' or whatever pieces to clear everything to the right of the cursor and insert the template automatically for the number of blocks that match the pieces (e.g. A1-in toto for one piece, A1-A2-in toto for 6 pieces)
